Hello Aspiring Skydiver!! Blue Skies!!
Do you want to learn skydiving?
Where to start? When to start? Who can be a skydiver? These are the question all of us face when we decide to pursue skydiving.
I have published related content on Instagram. If you want to know more, watch these reels.
How to be a skydiver?
You need to start with a tandem jump. Tandem skydiving or tandem parachuting refers to a type of skydiving whereby the student skydiver is connected to an instructor skydiver by a harness.
After that, you can start with AFF training. To participate in skydiving, you must be certified by a professional organization like USPA or BPA. The Accelerated Freefall (AFF) program trains students to become independent skydivers and is the starting point for earning a skydiving license.
The AFF program begins with seven levels of training. At each level, students learn new skills and then complete a jump from an airplane. Upon successful completion of all seven levels, students are eligible to receive their skydiving license.
After AFF, you can aim for USPA A License.
Which country doesn’t have a skydiving school?
India is one of those countries where you can not learn skydiving because we don’t have any skydiving schools yet.
If you want to be a skydiver, you need to visit any foreign countries where they teach skydiving.

Tandem Skydiving Vs AFF Course
👉AFF Students Get Their Own Parachute.
🔥The biggest difference between an AFF jump and a tandem jump is perhaps the most obvious one: a tandem student shares his/her parachute with a tandem instructor, whereas an AFF student jumps on his/her own.
👉 Tandem Is A Lesser Commitment.
🔥A tandem skydive places the responsibility for the entire process (directing freefall, then opening and steering the parachute) in the hands of the tandem instructor.
👉 AFF Students Learn Much More.
🔥An AFF student can expect about six hours of ground school training to begin his/her journey. That time is spent learning about the gear and practicing emergency procedures on the ground until the student and his/her instructor are confident that a solo parachute jump is appropriate.
Types of Skydiving
👉 You’ve probably heard of tandem skydiving. But did you know there are loads of other types of skydiving to enjoy too?
✅Tandem skydiving
✔️As a tandem skydiving student, you’ll be attached to an experienced tandem skydiving instructor. It’s their job to operate the equipment and make sure you have a great time.
✅AFF
✔️AFF, or accelerated freefall, is the program we use to teach new skydivers.
✅FORMATION SKYDIVING (BELLY)
✔️Just before sitting in the plane, JUMPMASTER decides the exit order of each skydiver. When I am in the queue, Jumpmaster will ask me “What I will be doing” and I will say that I am flying Solo Belly.
✅WINGSUITING
Another form of skydiving you may have seen already is wingsuit flying.
The wingsuit is just that; an all in one suit that has wings, which the skydiver controls in order to control their descent rate and direction. Wingsuiters tend to spend longer in the air as they are traveling more horizontally, whereas FS flyers, for example, are falling straight down (on the whole).
There are many different types of wingsuits and skydivers also compete in wingsuiting competitions.
✅FREEFLYING
Freeflying is the discipline where we learn to fly our bodies in all orientations and on all axis – not just belly to earth.
This means you’ll see free flyers flying in head up, seated or standing positions. You may see them flying ‘head down’ (just upside down). Often, they combine all of this into impressive displays, or simply fly around with each other in these positions.
✅CRW (canopy relative work)
CRW (usually spoken as ‘crew’ and standing for ‘canopy relative work’) is all about flying your parachute.
CRW jumpers usually miss out the freefall portion of their skydive entirely. Instead, they open their parachutes as soon as they leave the aircraft.
✅SWOOPING AND CANOPY PILOTING
Like CRW, swooping and canopy piloting are all about flying your parachute.
Swooping is the practice of accelerating the descent rate of the parachute by initiating turns.
